Emily Sloane is a college student, who aspires to be a fashion designer. She’s been drawing and sketching since middle school and has recently taken up sewing. During High school she participated in her school’s Forensics (or competitive speech and drama) team. In 2009, she won 2nd place in districts and 4th place in the THSSDL State Championships in Costume Design with designs for the play Dreamgirls. During her senior year (2010) she competed once again and placed second once again in districts and placed first at the State Championship for her costume designs for Alfred Uhry’s Last Night of Ballyhoo. Since then, she has been studying art at a state school and continues sketching, designing and sewing. She hopes to apply to the Fashion Institute of Technology either this year or next.
